The Important Stuff
Choosing The Right Spark Plug
When tuning your car for more power, the internal combustion temperatures will rise. High EGTs are the enemy in a high compression ratio direct injection engine, becoming the leading cause for LSP, Low Speed Pre-Ignition, causing Engine Failure.
Protect yourself by using the right heat range plug for your Engine by following our recommendations below.
For Stage 1 & 2 tunes, we recommend one step colder
Brisk Iridium Performance 2MOER10YIR
This is a one step colder plug that uses Iridium as the conductor material. Iridium is known for its durability and will outlast a silver conductor plug in terms of maintenance replacement. The factory plug heat range is a 12, and the recommended heat range for stage 1 & 2 tunes is one step colder, or a 10 on Brisk's Heat Range chart displayed below.
Iridium Electroid
For Stage 3 tunes, we recommend two step colder
Brisk Iridium Performance 2MOER08IR
This is a two step colder plug that uses Iridium as the conductor material. Iridium is known for its durability and will outlast a silver conductor plug in terms of maintenance replacement. The factory plug heat range is a 12, and the recommended heat range for stage 3 tunes is two steps colder, or a 8 on Brisk's Heat Range chart displayed above.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Brisk offers a silver electroid version of the same plug, but we are not recommending it to our customers due to small misfires at idle. We don't believe it to be an issue with the material rather with the projection of the tip of the electrode
