PROHUB AWD CHASSIS DYNAMOMETERS (CAN CONTROL SYSTEM)

The ProHub AWD CCS (CAN Control System) Chassis Dynamometers are the ultimate “in chassis” tuning solution for vehicle high-performance 2WD & AWD vehicle applications. 
Designed for testing high-performance street cars and some drag car applications, the ProHub AWD Chassis Dynamometers effectively bridge the gap between an engine dynamometer and a roller-based chassis dynamometer which rely heavily on the tyre to roller interface (traction).

PROHUB AWD

PORTABLE DESIGN
The “Power Absorption Modules” (PAMS) have integrated wheel assemblies allowing them to be easily moved to the vehicle, correctly aligned, and connected to the vehicle’s axle hubs.  After testing is complete, the PAMS can be rolled away and stored when not in use. These units are quick to set up, easy to move around your shop, and can be stored away when not required for use. The Power Absorption Modules (PAMS) can be disconnected from the cabinet without hand tools. 

The front modules on all ProHub AWD models are intentionally rated at 1600Hp, to effectively test lower-powered 2WD vehicles. All ProHub AWD models can test FWD, RWD, or AWD/4WD vehicles. 

HIGH SPEED OPERATION

All ProHub models are maximum speed rated up to 5000 Axle Rpm or equivalent road speeds of up to 400 mph (640 kph), subject to vehicle gearing.

VEHICLE AXLE HUB CONNECTION

The ProHub AWD modules connect directly to the vehicle's axle hubs via billet steel adaptors, effectively removing wheel and tyre-related variables from the testing and tuning equation altogether, for absolute accuracy, and the ultimate in test data repeatability from power run to power run.  

NON-COAXIAL DESIGN 

All Mainline ProHub Chassis Dynamometers are a "non-coaxial" type design. This means the power absorption modules (PAMS) sit flat on the floor, and you do not have to adjust the angle of the modules to match the camber angles of the vehicle. This allows for a much quicker setup compared to our competitors, who use a coaxial type design that can also be prone to vibration due to misalignment of the modules with the vehicle.

Our non–coaxial design means it is not critical what angle the modules are attached to the car (vertically or laterally). The ProHub units incorporate a twin Constant Velocity joint arrangement contained within the extension tubes of the modules. The retarders inside the modules are offset to ensure the connection to the vehicle can never be coaxially aligned

The ProHub AWD Chassis Dynamometer will accommodate up to +/- 10 °camber and 10 ° toe in /out, to accommodate live axle and IRS systems.          



CAN CONTROL SYSTEM (CCS)

The new Mainline CCS (CAN Control System) is certainly the “next level” in sophisticated dynamometer control and accurate data acquisition technology.

The CCS features emerging and innovative hardware and software technologies that will satisfy the most fastidious operators. As the name suggests, this dynamometer technology is based on a robust, dependable, and efficient CAN communication network between a central head display unit and a remote CAN control unit, or multiple CAN control units, resulting in much faster data transfer speeds, faster control response and increased sensitivity for transient or intermittent data changes.

ADVANCED DYNAMOMETER CONTROL STRATEGIES  

The Mainline CCS (CAN Control System) employs the latest dynamometer control technology. The dynamometer control incorporates various strategies to ensure fast, accurate and precise vehicle control under test.

Eddy Current Brake Mapping: Mainlines CCS dynamometers feature fully mapped eddy current retarders. This means the performance characteristics of the eddy current retarders under all expected operating conditions are known in advance, which allows for a fully optimised and precise control strategy to be implemented across all test modes.


Combination Feed Forward & PID Control: A more advanced control system that can proactively predict a control strategy response to quickly changing demand or torque requirements, thus reducing the total error correction required by a traditional PID (proportional, integral, and derivative) controller. In simple terms, the dynamometer controller focuses on future control challenges, objectives, and solutions, instead of the past, and quickly responds to any required load corrections ahead of time, precisely matching the performance characteristics of the vehicle being tested.
